We are a product design studio in Toronto. We design software for other companies, and we build our own apps for iOS.

Client engagements are retainer-based and governed by a Design Services Agreement under Ontario law. Scope, fees, and billing terms are set out under Retainers below.

Product design.: Defining what to build and how it should behave, from the problem through to the shipped flows.
User experience.: Research, information architecture, and interaction design for software whose complexity is real and cannot be wished away.
Design systems.: Tokens, primitives, and screen templates, delivered as a working library rather than a specification.
Front-end implementation.: Production interface code authored by the same people who designed it, reviewed by your engineers.

Retainers

Client work runs on a monthly retainer. Requests enter a single queue and are delivered continuously, without sprint cycles or fixed project scopes. Fees are flat: no hourly billing and no change orders. Tiers differ by how deep the engagement goes, from execution bandwidth on demand through to accountability for product outcomes.

Fees are quoted in USD and billed on the anniversary of the start date. T2 and T3 carry an agreed monthly ceiling, set in the Design Services Agreement, which governs every engagement under the laws of Ontario. Support

Every app we publish is supported at support@urdesignstudio.ca. Messages are answered within two business days.

Reporting a problem

Include the app name and version, the device model, the iOS version, and the steps that produce the problem. Where relevant, attach a screenshot or a screen recording. Reports of crashes are prioritized over feature requests.

Purchases and refunds

Apple is the merchant of record for everything sold through the App Store and handles all billing. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchases restore across devices signed in to the same Apple Account; use the restore control inside the app if a purchase does not appear.

Deleting your data

Our apps do not require an account. Where one is introduced, the account and its data will be deletable from inside the app, and by request to privacy@urdesignstudio.ca. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days. Because app data is stored locally and nowhere else, deleting an app from a device removes everything it held.

Accessibility

Our apps are built against Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and Reduce Motion. Content unusable with assistive technology is treated as a defect; report it to the support address above.

Privacy policy

Last updated September 4, 2026. Applies to urdesignstudio.ca and to every app published by UR Product Design Studio Inc.

We do not collect personal information. Our apps contain no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers, and they declare no collected data types in their App Store privacy manifests. Content created in an app remains on the device.

Information we process

Presets and settings are written to local app storage on the device and are not transmitted anywhere. Our apps make no network requests of their own. Apple processes purchases and app distribution and provides us with aggregate sales figures and crash reports, neither of which identifies an individual. Email sent to us is retained only as long as it takes to answer it.

Device permissions

Our apps request no device permissions. They do not use the microphone, the camera, location, contacts, or your photo library. Where an app connects to external MIDI hardware, it does so through the system MIDI session, which carries note data only. Should a future feature require a permission, it will be requested at the point of use and can be withdrawn in iOS Settings, at which point that feature stops working and no other function is affected.

Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we hold none. The only third parties in the chain are Apple, which processes purchases and app distribution under its own privacy policy, and our email provider, which carries correspondence sent to the addresses on this page.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. As no personal information is collected from any user, none is knowingly collected from children.

Your rights

PIPEDA in Canada, the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and the CCPA in California grant rights to access, correct, and delete personal information held about you, and to know whether it has been sold or shared. We hold none and sell none. Requests and questions go to privacy@urdesignstudio.ca and are answered within 30 days.

Changes

Revisions to this policy are reflected in the date above. Material changes are additionally noted in the release notes of the affected app.

Apps published by UR Product Design Studio Inc. are licensed, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The license is non-transferable, is granted for use on devices you own or control, and permits use of the app for any lawful purpose, including commercial and recorded musical work.

Apple processes all purchases and refunds under its own terms and is not responsible for the apps themselves. The apps are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Content you create with them is yours; retain your own backups.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it.
